In this way, I have experienced different civilizations: from the works of Alvar Aalto to those of Gaudí, from vernacular Mediterranean architecture to the abandoned city without architects on the edges of the Sahara; from La Alhambra of Granada to the pyramid in Saqqara; all have become important and successive references in my way of thinking, feeling and seeing space; that is, the relationship between solid and empty. As far as I am concerned this defines the essence of architecture.
