Bach 4 apartments

1965, Barcelona, Spain
This apartment complex in Barcelona, is made of two buildings accessed from two different streets and looks onto a circular plaza. The design of the facade is particularly interesting for the use of materials prominent in the Catalan craft tradition—the predominant element is brick, which encompasses the entire building in horizontal strips, and two vertical, ceramic lattices that set up an effect of transparency inside the dwellings.
Program: no. 4, calle Compositor Bach: 12 dwellings + attic and garret.
Client: Ebsa
No. 6, calle Pérez Cabrero: 21 dwellings with terraces on the top floor.
Client: sr. Andreu
