The President of Spain Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero has announced that master architect Ricardo Bofill and his team Taller de Arquitectura will be in charge of the design and construction of the new satellite terminal for the Barcelona airport, a new building of 300.000 square meters that will add 20 million passengers/year to the airport capacity. The President also announced that Bofill will make a total transformation of the 1992 Olympic Airport. Bofill will finish the South Terminal now under construction, an intercontinental hub of 1 million square meters, 1 year ahead of schedule.
