RBTA’s masterplan proposal for the area resulting after the rerouting of Boston’s Central Artery expressway is an ambitious scheme aiming to restore a deep-rooted historical structure that was lost when the elevated artery was constructed.
The depression of the artery implied the removal of the barrier which cuts across many of the pedestrian routes, thus restoring the connections between the pedestrian core of the city, the waterfront and the new Harbour Park.
